Lars Peter Nissen has been Director of ACAPS since 2009. Experienced in response to both sudden-onset disasters and more protracted crises, he has for the past 20 years worked in numerous crisis across the world, including Myanmar, Pakistan, El Salvador, Turkey, Uganda, Angola, Mozambique, DPRK, Afghanistan, and Zimbabwe. He has conducted a range of reviews and analyses of humanitarian programs for NGOs, the Red Cross/Red Crescent movement and the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. Mr. Nissen is a visiting professor at the University of Copenhagen and blogs on www.academic-cowboy.org.
